DC Snow Team Gears Up For Winter 2017/2018 with Dry Run Practice Session

On Friday, City Administrator Rashad Young and leaders of the DC Snow Team will kick off the 2017-2018 snow season with a dry run exercise and press conference at the Farragut Salt Dome. The Snow Dry Run is a training exercise for the 800+ members of the DC Snow Team (DPW, DDOT, DGS, DHS, Serve DC, and other agencies) to prepare for every aspect of the city’s snow and ice operations. About 500 plow drivers will drive their routes, while administrative, supervisory, logistics and IT employees will practice their functions at their respective sites.

During the press conference, DC Snow Team leaders will announce new components of this season’s operations and take questions.
